On November 2nd, 2016, I had the honour of accepting CAMP’s (Canadian Association of Marketing Professionals) award for Entrepreneur of the Year. It was awarded based on the new agency I started last year, Launch 48, which has seen tremendous success in the Digital Marketing world over the past 16 months.
I came up with the idea of creating and launching websites in a two-day period, at the end of March 2015. Three weeks later we opened our creative studio in Streetsville, Mississauga, with a full schedule of customers ready to go. We had no idea if our crazy idea would work, as we took everything we learned in over 400 website projects and boiled it down to an intensive two-day program.
We were excited (and relieved) when our first website project launched after two days and an extremely happy customer walked out our door with nothing but good things to say. Since then, we’ve been refining our processes and now, most of our customers are referrals from other happy customers who loved the program.
Although this award is focused on being the Entrepreneur of the Year, I owe all of the success to the team that has been launching sweet websites in a high-pressure environment, delivering a new site every two days with customers working by their sides. I’m also extremely grateful for the support that I have received from my wife Tammy, who has cheered me on through every new business venture, no matter how crazy it makes our lives. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re only getting started!
